FAIA Summer eSummit

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! That’s just what your association is doing in response to cancelling this year’s Convention and Education Symposium due to the pandemic. Admittedly, that was a BIG bummer and yet another reminder of the very different times we are all experiencing. But “different” doesn’t necessarily mean bad and, in this case, we are excited about a virtual alternative that will enable FAIA to deliver tremendous value to thousands of member agents.

On July, 21, 2020, FAIA will kick off its Summer eSummit, a three-day virtual conference featuring seven separate CE breakout sessions from renowned insurance trainers normally seen at our annual convention. The Summit will also include three general sessions: 1) a marketplace update with OIR Commissioner David Altmaier and Citizens CEO Barry Gilway; 2) disaster planning with former FEMA Director, Brock Long; and 3) my exit interview with past FAIA Chair Brian Scarborough.

Now, for the most exciting part—registration is completely FREE for FAIA members and their employees! That’s right—any member who participates in the eSummit can earn up to 12 hours of continuing education credit while learning from top industry leaders for free. Non-members can register for the event and earn CE for just $199. The quality of FAIA’s virtual training is second to none, and we are proud to offer this valuable assistance to our members.

Check out the full schedule, and course descriptions online and register today.

Where is the schedule posted?

Attendees will receive a certificate of completion after you verify attendance in each session.

We we plan on running a bonus day of breakouts right after the conference is over for members only.  Several options will be available to attend a session during and after normal business hours.

If you cannot make all of the classes during the day, are you able to view it after hours in the evening and still get the credits.  Working with a shorter staff, it is difficult during the day to stop your calls and concentrate on taking the classes.

How do you retrieve a certificate of completion after completing the eSummit?

That is awesome!

Debbie, as Dave said, we have no way of knowing exactly what the Governor will do regarding the extension of Florida's statewide health safety emergency order, which is the vehicle that provides the ability for 440's to temporarily work remotely. Our long-term advice to agents is to prepare for the real possibility this license may not exist in the future. It is unique to Florida and thus, has no reciprocity in other states. It was also never intended to be used in the manner it  is today and our changing world creates challenges of obsolescence for the 440 license.

This extension was discussed with DFS earlier this week and at this point, no decision has been made. The extension is solely at the discretion of the Governor and FAIA will be monitoring any decision very closely. Stay tuned.

The eSummit is complimentary to all member agency and associates members  and staff. Those that are licensed will receive up to 12 credit hours of CE for all.

You mentioned that registration for employees of FAIA members is free.  Are the employees also eligible to receive the 12 hours of continuing education credit?

Has anyone heard whether the Governor will extend the ability for 440 licensees to continue working from home (post the upcoming July expiration date)?
