Trusted Choice continues to help Make-A-Wish grant wishes by participating in walks held throughout Florida. Out of an abundance of caution for everyone’s health, many of them have changed to virtual or virtual/in-person hybrid events this year, meaning anyone in Florida, and even outside of, can participate.

Three weeks ago, the walk that usually takes place in Sunrise, spanned an entire weekend. I walked in my neighborhood in Gainesville. More than 600 individuals participated, and the walk raised enough to grant more than 55 wishes! And Trusted Choice was a part of it thanks to Lisa Davis, Victoria Cyccone, Katie Martin, and Javier Cubas who joined the team, and thanks to Lisa Davis as well as the Independent Insurance Agents of Broward County who contributed to the team.

The next walk is scheduled in two weeks in Orlando at Lake Eola on the afternoon/evening of March 25. It will be a virtual/in-person hybrid event. They will be conducting temperature checks, masks will be required, and they’re working with the city to follow all COVID protocols. We’ll be participating virtually and hope to return to in-person next year. To register to participate or make a contribution, check out the Trusted Choice Team page. Use code TC2021 to register for free (limited to the first five registrants).

In April, both the Miami and Tampa walks will be held virtually the weekend of April 9. The Tampa walk is usually a little less intense than the 5K race/walk in Miami, though we will miss seeing the animals at the Miami Zoo this year. Thanks to Laura Talt who registered to participate and contributed in Tampa. Check out the Miami Trusted Choice Team page or the Tampa Trusted Choice Team page to register or contribute. For the Miami walk, use code TRUSTED21 to register for free (good for the first five participants). In Tampa, use code TRUSTEDCHOICE to register for free (available for the first five participants).

The final walk of this season is scheduled for May 1 in Jacksonville. At this time, it is an in-person event. Stay tuned for more details.

Make-A-Wish has come to discover that a wish experience can significantly improve the emotional and physical health of a wish kid. We believe in the power of a wish and what it can do for a child battling a critical illness. We believe in supporting our community and showcasing that support through action and making a difference. We are proud to sponsor the wish granting efforts of the Make-A-Wish Southern and Central and Northern Florida Chapters at their Walks for Wishes. Together, through our efforts, time, and support we will inspire and change the life of a young child in our communities.
