Below is the notice FAIA received from DFS Director of Agent & Agency Services Greg Thomas.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis and the Florida Department of Financial Services will be setting up two insurance villages to assist consumers with insurance claims and other needs. The villages will be located in Charlotte and Lee counties. The Port Charlotte locations will become operational at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2022; the Ft. Myers location will be announced soon and is expected to open Tuesday.

Moving forward, the locations will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. seven days per week. Participants are encouraged to arrive between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Monday for set up. Please do not arrive and set up early. We anticipate the locations will remain open for at least two weeks, but they may be there longer depending on need. We would appreciate your participation.

Please be advised that both locations are outdoors and will not have power available. Please bring appropriate equipment to conduct operations in a parking lot. We will be making arrangements for restroom facilities.

The locations are:

Port Charlotte Town Center (Parking Lot)

1441 Tamiami Trail

Port Charlotte, FL 33948

NEW LOCATION PENDING

Ft. Myers

Teea,

FAIA will not have a presence at the insurance villages. We will instead be distributing needed supplies and resources to our members directly.
